Solo Exhibition 2025 in Prades, France：Opening ceremony

Vernissage of this exhibition has held on Tuesday, May 6 at 6:00 pm at Prades in FRANCE.

Unfortunately, Mitsuko was not able to go to the opening ceremony due to illness.

However, thanks to her husband's family and the event staff, the exhibition was successfully held.

We would like to thank the more than 80 people who came to the vernissage.

Below is the speech that her husband Pierre gave on behalf of Mitsuko.

✉️Mitsuko's Greetings

Hello, and thank you for being here today.

I can't be here in person, but through these works I'd like you to meet a little of me.

Suibokuga (Japanese ink painting) is an art of the essential.

Japanese paper, ink, water, brush...

Once the ink has been applied, no corrections are possible.

I let the brush follow the gesture, without holding it back.

This is where a unique expression is born, in the moment, with its imperfections.

This is what the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi teaches us:

beauty lies in simplicity, the unfinished, the ephemeral.

But Suibokuga is more than just a sight to behold.

It invites a silent dialogue.

Because it doesn't show colors, it encourages you to imagine them.

And to do this, you draw on your own memories, emotions and stories.

When a painting awakens a precious memory in you, a personal emotion is born - unique to each of us.

For me, this is the magic of Suibokuga:

I hand you an incomplete work, and it's your gaze that finishes it.

I'm an imperfect artist.

And so are my works.

But it's precisely this imperfection that leaves room for your inner world.

Today, this tradition is fragile.

The masters, the craftsmen, those who make the tools, the papers, the inks... are becoming increasingly rare.

Through my work, I'd like to bring to life not only the art itself, but also all those who, often behind the scenes, make this art possible.

Thank you for taking the time to look.

I'd like to thank Madame Anceau for this wonderful opportunity, and Mesdames Loeillet and Weiss for their invaluable help in organizing this exhibition.

Special thanks to my mother-in-law Hélène, who made this dream come true.

And I'd like to express my love and gratitude to my husband Pierre, and our three daughters, who respect and support my passion for Japanese culture.

５月６日火曜18時から、本展示会のVernissageが開催されました。

大変残念ながら、ミツコ本人は体調不良のため、会場に行くことができませんでした。

しかし義理の家族とイベント担当者のみなさまのおかげで、無事に展示会を開催することができました。

８０名を超えるご来場者の皆様に、心より感謝申し上げます。

ミツコの代理として、夫のピエールが挨拶した内容を以下に記します。

✉️みなさま、こんにちは。

私は本日会場に行くことはできませんが、わたしの作品を通して、皆さんに私の芸術について、少しでも知ってもらおうと思います。

水墨画は極めて本質的な芸術です。

和紙、墨、水、筆で表現される簡素な世界。

一度紙に墨を落としたら、修正はできません。

筆を止めずに、流れのままに筆を走らせる。この一瞬一瞬に、あらゆる不完全さを含めて、唯一無二の表現が生まれます。

そこには、日本独自の美意識である「わびさび」が存在します。

簡素であり、主観的であり、はかなく、そして未完の美が、そこにはあります。

水墨画はただ眺めるだけの絵画ではありません。

鑑賞者との対話を誘うものです。

私の描く墨一色の世界には、

鑑賞者を特別な記憶や過去に引きもどす力があると思っています。

現実と比較して、水墨画にはない、色というものを、

鑑賞者はどうしてもみつけようとしてしまう。

そのために、自分の過去の経験を総動員する。

そして、作品と重なるある過去の瞬間が、その人にとって大切なものであればあるほど、その人だけの感動が生まれる。

不完全な私が描く、　

不完全な水墨画、

だから、

鑑賞者が入っていく余地がある、

不完全の美がそこにある。

鑑賞者のみなさんがそれぞれに感じる何かがあれば、わたしは大変嬉しく思います。

今日、古来から続くこういった日本の伝統芸能や技術は、確実に減退しつつあります。

巨匠と呼ばれる作家、道具を製作する技術者、古典芸術を愛する人は、ますます減少しています。

私は作品を通して、芸術そのものだけでなく、この芸術を可能にしているすべての人々に目を向けてほしいと願い、

道具や歴史に関する展示も行っています。

日本の歴史ある芸術文化について、表面だけでなく裏側まで知っていだだけたらと思い、各地で展示会を行っています。

このような素晴らしい機会を与えてくださったMadame Anceau、

この展覧会の開催にご尽力いただいたMesdames Loeillet と Mesdames Weiss に感謝いたします。

そして個展開催を実現させてくれた、義理の母 Hélène に特別の感謝を捧げます。

また、私の日本文化への情熱を尊重し、支えてくれている 夫のピエールと3人の娘たちに、

すべての愛と感謝の気持ちを伝えたいと思います。

最後に、長年にわたって私を支えてくれている、日本とスイスのすべての友人たちに、心から深く感謝申し上げます。
